Jordan River Parkway Trail: Murray Section is a 6.6 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Salt Lake City, Utah that offers the chance to see wildlife and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for walking, running, and road biking and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
A beautiful and busy greenway with a paved and unpaved pathway. Enjoy! Accessibility: This asphalt, concrete, packed dirt and gravel trail is estimated to typically be at least 8 feet wide. The slope is mostly gentle and estimated to range from -5% (downhill) to 5% (uphill) grade. There are 4 ADA-compliant car parking spots with 2 access aisles at the small paved trailhead lot. There is another parking lot to the west of the river with more space as well.
Nice flat active trail. The good part is when the rain came down, no mud.
Nice paved trail along the Jordan River. This is a prettier section than some of the others I’ve done. I also made this a loop and did the Little Confluence Trail on the way back, which added a dirt section. Both trails go through the city but there’s some nice views. Both trails were covered in snow.
Nice walk with nice views of Mount Olympus. Quite a few other folks with the same idea.
It would be nice if Murray City put some garbage cans along this section of the trail. ***No bathrooms on this section
This has got to be the worst paved trail for walkers. It is crowded with tons and tons of bikers swarming passed you with no notice they are coming behind you. Not one biker practiced biking rules, or biking etiquette. If you want to take a chance, and get hit by a biker definitely take this Trail. If not there are other trails in the valley that are better suited for an afternoon walk
Really beautiful walk. Take advantage of the scenic turnoffs by the nature center!
make sure you follow the map on this one, there's a lot of divets and other trails.
I love this trail. It hugs the Jordan River all the way to the end. This is a multi use trail with lots and lots of bikers. Dogs are allowed if kept on a leash. Please pick up after your dog. The county has sections of the trail banks used for conservation of natural habitat which makes this trail beautiful to walk.
