easy hike/walk for kids and family. lots of ducks hang around pond year round.
We just went around the ponds. Walkways were clear. There were tons of ducks that my kids enjoyed seeing.
This is a city park, so it doesn't give me the feeling of nature like a more secluded trail. However, it's easy and well paved and is good for kids, strollers, dogs and I believe would work well for a wheelchair. There is little shade on the trail and when we've been in the summer, we haven't lasted long. It has a permenant orienteering course that we did with the kids. There are also a few geo cashes. The pond is man made and can look gross at times. People fish and I've seen some kayaks and canoes practicing. There is a a part of the walk that features winning bird houses from the city competitions.
Jensen Park Trail- loved this one. Lots of trees and pavilions to sit under and have a picnic. Some benches near the water to fish at. Wide, flat, paved trail around the whole pond (not really shaded), perfect for stroller, with a few off-shoots of trail. Some pretty bridges that went across the water. Overall very scenic with pretty landscaping and lots of ducks and birds.
there are two directions you can go. one way is no shade and just houses, but if you go off to the right it's a nice pond and shaded sitting areas. we didn't see the trail in the right until later and we're disappointed that it wasn't noticeable like the other was.
Should be rated as easy. Not a hiking trail but a paved walking path. It was a nice walk with my dog, we saw cattle, horses, and even a pheasant. Nice place for a stroll and that’s about it.
Little shade. I suggest going early to avoid the heat. Paved all the way. Lots of grass. Overall great walk!
