Mountain bikingGreat!No shade

This is an awesome trail! We were dropped off at the Jem Trailhead by Goosebe Mesa and rode down to be picked up at the trailhead by Virgin. The upper portion of the trail is smoothed packed trail. There was a section of steep switchbacks that was difficult for me as an beginner/ intermediate. The lower part of the trail had more of a gravel like consistency and was a bit more rocky with some small rock rolls. The last bit of the trail is right along the edge of the Virgin River. It’s a pretty steep drop but completely doable. The trail is really well marked and easy to find/stay on. The lower trailhead has 2 parking areas about a quarter mile apart, the second one is a bit rough to get to be we managed just fine in a Honda CRV.

Great trail with several additional routes along the way. Part of the trail is “one way” so you take an additional route to get to top.

My first mtb attempt was a success! Had to walk the cliff section and some of the rocks on the trail were over my head but I survived without an injury! If you want to walk this trail, I think it would be pretty boring except for the Hurricane Cliff section. 9 miles and 674 feet elevation gain.

Beautiful views. loved the ride along the cliff looking down at the virgin river. Road the first 5 miles up and then turned back at the dirt road.

What an awesome riding area JEM is, okay I’ll say it, a real gem. Beginner or expert, it is a blast The section along the river is really scenic and fun in either direction Kind of busy this time of year but the weather was just about perfect

Great trail system! We did JEM, dead ringer and more cowbell. Pretty amazing how many people are out riding and camping during the week. The trails are great for beginners who want to stretch their abilities. The vistas are spectacular

Primarily used for mountain biking. My husband and I hiked 5.6mi. The first 2 mi were very scenic along the Virgin River. This is an open desert hike with no shade. Lots of bikers so must keep dogs on leash if taking them with!

Started by driving in to the Virgin Dam Trail head. Google will lead you there. It was a short hike but the views of the surrounding mountains and rocky cliffs along the trail are amazing. I thought the trail was pretty easy and safe.
