Made a quick trip to the Peak. We should have started earlier to avoid the thaw. Trail got pretty muddy on the way down at noon.

My husband and I completed this hike with our friend Erin on November 4. Be warned: much of this is not a true trail. We kept the app open, trying to stay on the red line, and it basically took us straight up the side of the mountain. At a couple points, we ran into a trail, but it was a lot of straight up climbing. We didn't make it to James Peak.... we stopped at Cobabe Peak. Giving this trail three stars because we still had a good experience despite our tracking difficulties. At the top of Cobabe Peak, it snowed (our first of the season!), and the view was beautiful! We could see entire mountain ranges that I didn't even know existed. Overall we made a pleasant day of it, but couldn't recommend this trail because of how difficult it was to follow!

Nice ski resort located up Ogden Canyon. Great back-country skiing.
