The International Peace Gardens are located on the bank of the Jordan River in Salt Lake City, Utah. The gardens were founded by local citizens who wanted to further peace and understanding between people and nations. It was dedicated in 1952 and has been a part of the community in Salt Lake every since. Over the years additions have been made to the gardens as partnerships have been made with countries around the world, such as 1965 Switzerland, 1977 Brazil, 1989 Ireland, and more recently 2000 Tonga. Free and open to the public year-round the International Peace Gardens is worth a visit. Accessibility: There are at least 2 designated accessible spaces in the paved parking lot off of Dalton Avenue South at the start of the trail. Both of them are van-accessible with a striped access aisle. The trail surface is paved (asphalt, brick, or cement), and typically at least 4 feet wide. The estimated grade is gentle (3% or less). This trail will likely be navigable for most trail goers using wheelchairs/mobility equipment or strollers. There are benches and picnic tables along the route for resting.

Fun little loop with gardens from many different countries. Most of the flags and flowers are gone right now from what was here over the summer.

Paved path in a park. Time better spent exploring the markers than just walking the loop.

Beautiful and well-maintained! We loved the flowers and the structures for each country represented. The squirrels here are huge! The only thing missing was the water and fountains.

WalkingGreat!

Very nice paved trail with lots for the kiddos to explore. Most of the water features inside the park were not working and drained. Lots of people taking dance and wedding photos etc. Perfect quick loop that you can do several times if wanted.

Very pretty and well groomed. A peaceful walk though some nice gardens and displays. The water displays such as ponds and waterfalls were empty and some vandalized displays kind of took away from the experience, but all in all a nice place to visit.

Busy surrounding park, but interesting walk through gardens I didn't know existed. Connects to Jordan river parkway for biking/walking.

it is nice for a every day walk or running for people living close by, or just to relax with the family. too bad some people don't care about dogs off leashes.

Wasn’t very peaceful today. Two people with dogs off leash, which normally I don’t care. But both dogs chased squirrels up trees. And there owners just let them keep barking. Otherwise it was mostly clean and not overgrown. The paths over bridges that are not paved we’re pretty muddy.

It's a nice walk but the park isn't as nicely kept as I expected. Some exhibits were unfinished or taken down for whatever reason. Such a shame.

A nice walk in the spring and summer when the gardens are alive. Not exactly what I'd call a hike though. There's also been a fair amount of vandalism, so some exhibits in the park are in disrepair.

This is not a wild park, rather a neatly arranged set of gardens for a casual stroll.

Love this place, they allow bikes, dogs, and skateboards with beautiful international statues. More of a leisurely stroll than a hike.

This is an absolutely gorgeous park. It represents about 25 to 30 nations. Each represented country has their own small part of the park and it is unique to their culture. Truly spectacular and I highly recommend everyone goes if you can. When you hear international shit on the news it feels like all countries are in upheaval… But in reality we have more in common with each other than not. Being in a place like this shows real brotherhood of nations and of people. I have even visited several of these nations and I have always felt at home… i’ve been to Germany, Panama, Korea, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Italy, Slovenia, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Hungary, and Iceland (not to mention the countries I’ve deployed to in the military) and I’ve loved every single country and I felt that each place loved me too. There is a huge international brotherhood and this park displays that love of nations.
