Did it on 2018-12-30. First 1.5 miles is icy. Traction tools are helpful. Beautiful view. Recommend
Loved every moment of it! It starts with views and has views most of the time. The end is epic! And as a gift it has a slot canyon - Echo canyon. It's easily reachable from the middle of it.
A lot of switch backs but about 2 miles up the hike has so many good views. Also a great view of angles landing across the valley.
I have no idea how this is supposed to be a 7.1 mi hike - my AllTrails read 4.8 mi when we got up there.
We started later than anticipated - 430p and didn’t know if we would finish before the last bus at 7:15p. We hiked fast with some jogging and made it back by 7pm. A great time of day to have the trails to yourself but not ideal for the sun as the canyon didn’t look as scenic as it would have in the earlier hours of the day. I still loved it but next time will do it at sunrise.
started @7am, less than a handful of people on the trail. great overcast today. first 3 miles were switchbacks, levels out for the last mile. took 3 hours round trip.
