The Hickman Natural Bridge trail is a very relaxing and scenic trail in Capitol Reef National Park. A trail brochure - available at the trailhead - points out 17 things to observe along the hike. Notable among these are an indian granary, a small natural bridge called Nels Johnson Bridge, and, of course, Hickman Bridge.

Hickman bridge is very impressive and it’s an easy trail to get there. The trail loops under the bridge. It isn’t marked very well in some spots but not to the point where you can’t figure it out. The trail (and park) was very quiet with not many people.
a fun, quick hike do to for a delightful arch view. easily jogable
Easy trail. We did it as a complement to the hike to the Rim Overlook. It is worth the detour. The bridge is awesome.

Great little hike impresive arch
Very good trail up a rocky canyon to a scenic natural bridge. Fairly busy for a Thursday in early November.

Did this trail with 5 kids, youngest 6. Was fun with beautiful towering formations all along the way.
This is a nice hike, but nowhere near close to being the best at Capitol Reef. The views are good, though not great. It's quite easy. It's also quite short - I sprinted up there because I started an hour before sunset but eventually it took me 45 minutes both ways. In general, however, I would recommend doing the Cassidy Arch Trail instead or continue on to the Rim Overlook or even Navajo Knobs Trails at the intersection .3 miles in (from which you will also see the Hickman Bridge by the way).
Nice, quick trail with good arch midway
If this hike was long or strenuous, then it would rate a little lower, as much of the trail is a little mundane. However, it is a super short and easy trek, and the bridge is really quite impressive for the amount of work (or lack thereof) that you have to put in. This is a must-do hike in Capitol Reef, and extremely accessible compared to the other must-do hikes of different national parks. Even in mid/late October it was quite hot, so get an early start!
Quick arch trail. Nice views. Cool arch.
Really enjoyed this hike, slightly strenuous for two old guys on the uphill stretch. Well worth the effort with sandy flat areas between climb and decents. Enjoyed the bridge/arch section. There were some wasps nearby, but able to avoid. Quite hot at mid day Sept 27.
iconic trail. great hike.

Short hike to a pretty arch. It takes a loop under the arch, so you can see it from both sides.
Fairly short hike. Make sure to follow the sign at the beginning of the loop section. This will have you approach the arch from below which is more dramatic of a view. Beginning of hike is mostly uphill, longer stretches of flat, sandy trail through diverse terrain.
This hike was more vertical than anything. The arch was spectacular at the end and there’s a hidden cave off to the right about half way up that was kind of cool to take pictures. Did this during the middle of the day so it was hot.
Great hike to a perfect archway. In the morning was a good time since it wasn't too crowded and the lighting was great for a few photos.

easy hike to a nice natural arch. The lone hike we did in Capitol Reef NP - pretty cool
Last time I did this I was 16yo! 20 years later... still a beautiful hike. Started the hike at 630pm and passed a few hikers leaving, but had the place to myself for awhile. The bridge is huge and lots of photo opportunities from different angles. Definitely a must do hike in the park!
Nice hike
Easy hike!
This was a good hike with steep inclines at the beginning but is rocky and less steep later. I would recommend going early in the morning to keep from getting full sun
Little shade but beautiful and not busy.
