Had an awesome ride. We started in the afternoon with temps in the upper 50s. Once we started our way back it was snowing and raining. The trails were great loads of fun... especially once they got really wet and muddy.

Nice drive in our Outback. Leave your windows up unless you want to spend a few hours wiping down the interior of your car. Pretty scenic drive!

Trail was very easy. Nothing crazy. Dirt road. Any awd or 4wd can do this trail. There was nothing on this trail our stock subaru outbacks couldn't do. Oh hey and if your looking for a new or used car , come see me @young Subaru

The back country was stunning this time of year, quiet and clear with the bald eagles out and about to complete the picture. However the first 10 or so miles were very very very muddy and in my opinion impassable without a vehicle with all terrain tires, 4x4 low, and at least 1.5" of clearance after heavy rains. There also were some flooded creeks across the trail which stopped us in our CRV and made us reroute but a Jeep, ATV, or dirt bike probably could have made it through the creek.

This is a nice scenic drive. You don't need 4WD but you probably don't want to take a family car, although I have seen them up there. But they probably don't value their car very much.
