An okay trail by Zion standards, it follows the road and just leads to private buildings. But it has views of the cliffs the whole way so can't complain too much. However, if you plan on doing Angel's Landing there's no point in doing this trail as the parking lot at that trailhead will likely be full and you'll have to walk this trail anyway from the overflow parking lot - this is what happened to me.
was such a great time of year to come we headed out on the trail around 11am got to the top by 2 wasn't too overcrowded perfect temp but definitely bring a light jacket for the cool breeze took us a total of 4 1/2 hours out and back :)
Not really a trail, just a walkway leading from the Grotto shuttle stop area to the Zion Lodge area. There are some trees very close in to the trail, and they therefore do a good job of blocking the views. With everything else being so fantastic in Zion, calling this a trail is really a dis-service. It's a short, easy walk and if that's what you need, okay. But truly, probably every other possible trail in Zion is better!
Easy hike with pretty views! I would recommend combining it with the emerald pools trail. We started at Zion lodge and came up through lower emerald pools to upper emerald pools and then took the grotto trail down to the grotto lodge! Not the most amazing hike but worth doing!
This trail almost got 2 stars, but honestly its beautiful. The good thing about this trail is that it's really pretty and exciting. However, its really packed with people who don't really have much outdoor experience. I saw many people making things dangerous for everyone else by trying move past people(while wearing unsafe footwear) or trying to get photo apps in areas directly above other hikers. If you take other hikers out of the equation this could easily be a 5 star trail however.
Amazing colors in the morning light! Endangered owls.... condors from a distance.... bring water!
