Directions from Island in the Sky Visitor Center: Drive 6.25 miles southward on the Main Island Road. At the junction of Upheaval Dome/Grand View Roads bear left toward Grand View Point. Continue traveling six miles, past White Rim Overlook, to the Grand View Trailhead.

Awesome trail to get you a good view of the canyon. Just be aware that you're hiking on the edge of a canyon in case you're afraid of heights.

Love this hike- you start out following the rim on the east side and then move over to the western rim. The whole way is absolutely beautiful. We hiked this as the sun was beginning to set, so a lot of the buttes to the west were more silhouettes than colorful. Doing this early morning or mid morning would probably be incredible for photos of those.
