We did the Green River float on a 5 man raft this weekend. We rented a raft from the Flaming Gorge Resort, but would've preferred to rent from one of the rental places in Dutch John. The FGR is a little further away.

This section of the river is pretty easy to float for most families. We took 5 kids, ages 5-12 with us. As long as you know that you should take the right hand side on most of the rapids, but take the left hand side on the 7th rapid, called "Monther-in-law." There is a sign a few hundred yards before on the right hand side telling you which rapid you are approaching. None of the rapids were very dangerous, but a few chances to get hung up on rocks.

If you paddle through the slow water, the float takes about 1 1/2 - 2 hours. If you stop and eat or jump of the rocks, plan on 3 hours.
