This was an ok trail for the dog. The trail board states that dogs are to be on leash except in off-leash area - which are not marked. There is a little stream when you start the trail so the dogs can cool down before and after. There were a lot of mice when we did this trail. The trail itself is pretty narrow and exposed to the sun. We ended up turning around when the trail splits in 2.

The mountainside is nice and there is a little stream at the trail head. However, if you looking for quietness, this is not the trail for you. The noise from the freeway permeates the entire hike. Also, it is clear that the trail is a favorite of mountain bikers by the number of bikes and the way the trail itself is carved.

The trail was too muddy to hike today. I almost face planted scoping it out to see if it was doable for the kids. We’re going to try it again later in the year because it looked pretty nice. The trail head says Bad Apple and Flying Dog.
