I wouldn't classify this as a hiking trail - it's definitely more of a biking trail since bikers were the only ones we saw. My kids had a pretty miserable time, even my 9 yr old (who LOVES hiking was very disappointed). There's is pretty much no shade, we tripped over rocks and tree roots the entire time and this is a very narrow trail. In some places it was like walking on a tightrope it was so narrow. There definitely is not room to walk side by side on the trail. And the trail starts right at the road so you have to park on the street just before the trailhead. Plus there was a lot of construction, we had to wait forever to get by the trucks.

An easy little hike with pretty mountain and lake views. The trail is quite narrow however which makes encounters with bikers a bit difficult since there often isn't a place to step off of the trail.

It's great for a short little hike with awesome mountain and lake views. Good for kids.
