This hike was a killer, but so beautiful + the smell of the woods right now is unbeatable. I imagine it's because of the recent storm knocking down a bunch of trees, but what an incredible hike!

I loved the trail. It was fun to go with a group of friends and the lake isn't very big but still fun to see.

It's a good trail for my dog Toby, I like the Butler Fork trail to dog lake better. It's a much prettier Trail but no dog allowed. This trail rated moderate but it's a lower scale of moderate. I've done some moderate trails that are a lot harder hike than this. No need to bring water for your dog, there's plenty of water along the trail.

Loved this trail, nice and flat, no big rocks or bolders. Going up Big Water was easy, even though it was a 1,200 incline.

Lovely. This trail is pretty shaded which makes it ideal for summer hiking.

Great (mostly shaded) hike if you go early! My dog loved running around with all of the other dogs. We got to the parking lot a little before 6 am and snagged one of the last parking spots. There was a line of people trying to park as we were leaving. Love the off leash on odd numbered days rule so you really don’t have to worry about dirt bikes!!

Friendly trial with lots of shade from the fir trees. On even days you share the way with mountain bikers.

What a beautiful trail. Lots of shade, with intermentent patches of sun shine. A moderate incline, except for the last 5th of a mile. That is about a 13% incline, according to Strava. One of the best trails in Millcreek Canyon.

First trail run up Millcreek Canyon! Happy to get some miles in in August. Pros: If you have a doggo, this is the perfect trail for you, especially if they are well mannered off leash. The trail is relatively rock & root free so I was able to get about an 18 min split on the way up & 11 min on the way back down. Lots of shade & really pretty IMO. Cons: Trail had a bit of foot traffic but not so congested that I had to stop more than a handful of times. It is narrow so you’re going to get close to others when passing. The lake isn’t spectacular but cute.

The drought hasn’t had the impact this far up the canyon as further down. It’s still very pretty and not so many dead leaves or plants. I started up towards the trail you would take to Murdock Peak, but turned right instead of left at the GWT, and then came down when I hit the Little Water Trail. There were a lot of bike riders, but there was plenty of room on the trail, and it didn’t bother me at all. The trail itself was gorgeous, with forests, meadows and streams. There was enough water around to keep things green, even with the lack of rain. I could had detoured to see Dog Lake by adding 1.6 miles to my trip. I would definable do this hike again. Not very strenuous, but still a decent amount of elevation gain, and really, really pretty.

I do this hike a lot and finally decided to review it. I Iove this trail! It's my favorite to do in the evening during summer bc it's mostly shaded and cool enough at that elevation. It's a perfect evening workout for me with it being a gradual incline all the way up. The trail mostly smooth and pretty dusty. I usually take my pup along and there's access to water the whole way up. The wildflowers were amazing during the last half of July! And I saw a huge bull moose one Sunday morning. The trail is popular with mountain bikers and the parking lot has been busy/full most evenings and Sunday mornings.

Perfect evening trail run. The canyon kept us about 30 degrees cooler than other areas (100 degree day so 70 degrees felt amazing!). The shade on the trail and the amount of signs made it enjoyable and easy to follow. You get tons of views into the valley and the wildflowers were still out. We didn't spend too much time at the lake and mosquitos and dog quantity were low. I took 2 L of water but I probably drank only about 1 L for the hour and a half I was running/hiking.

Great hike. Passed only a few people on a Monday, great to not have to worry about bikes. Took Little Water Trail up and Big Water Trail down to make a nice loop. Super dry and dusty trail.
