Short hike up and back along both sides of Centerville creek Centerville Deuel Creek hike is a pleasant hike up Centerville canyon. Unlike so many other canyons, on the Deuel creek trail you can hike up the canyon on one side of the creek and back down on the other. The distance from trail head to where the trails meet is about one mile from there you can continue up the canyon for quite some distance, return on the same trail or follow the other trail down the opposite side of the creek. Deuel creek trail is maintained be the Centerville Parks and trial committee who have done a wonderful job restoring and improving this scenic trail.

I love this trail, it's beautiful, cool, and has nice shade. the only thing I don't like about it, so many people hiking with dogs off leash. I may be wrong, but it's my understanding that we have leash laws, even on hiking trails. This wouldn't be problem if all of the dogs were properly trained to ignore passing humans and dogs, but many aren't, and they run towards fellow hikers and their dogs, creating tense situations and stress.

Don't let the start of the south trail scare you! The trail levels out. I've been up here a thousand times and it never gets old. Make sure you keep pets on a leash a lot of dogs get lost up here.

There is a North side of this trail and a South side. I strongly recommend the South over the North as it is shaded. It also has easy access to water for dogs.
