Completed in July 2019 - we started early in the morning and thankful we did. Absolutely stunning views and fun trail! A few small scrambles along the way- relatively easy and short thou. By 11 am no shade and very hot. Definitely start and finish early in the heat of the summer. Tbh the dark angel part of the trail wasn’t as amazing as all the other arches you pass along the way. Definitely my favorite hike in arches national park - absolutely amazing!

Great winter hike! Well broken, some weaving of the broken-in trail so you do spend some time doubling back to find the right trail. Right after the Landscape Arch sign the trail appears to dead end, but it’s actually a scramble up long rock formations in between two larger canyons. Good hikers and micro spikes are a must to safely make it to Dark Angle.

The route out follows the double arches trail, which can be extremely busy in the first section. As soon as the blue jeans crowd turns around, though, it does thin out quite a bit and you get to do a little scrambling and have fun climbing on the rocks. There are still a good number of people on the trail, though. We didn’t have enough time to do the whole loop but went out to dark angel and back. I wouldn’t say the dark angel hike was life changing, but it was a fun little hike.

The temperature dropped about a week ago. Nice clear day that maxed out in the 80's. I took an 8 year old and a 6 year old back to Dark Angel, felt comfortable with the difficulty level. But they're both relatively experienced anyways.

This was worth it to get away from the crowds and see out the other side of the park. Very cool! I’m glad we did the whole trail to this point.

Amazing trail! Arches is insanely beautiful everywhere you look. Trail was a little hard to follow at times because so many have strayed and created alternative trails. I got sidetracked, unintentionally a couple times. Try to stay on the trail people!

Did it as part of the Devil's Garden loop, just a short side trail. It is a must when doing the loop.

Go see it if you go that far, but don't miss the arches! I would also suggest making the whole loop if you already go that far...

We hit the trail at 8:30 AM in mid/late August, not to hot. Great hike with beautiful scenery. Bring lots of water and sunscreen. Did this as part of Double O, should have done the entire primitive loop, next year!

I went to this but part of the loop. it would be pointless to go all that way withoit seeing all of the other sights along the way. By the way, fun fact: this was originally called the "Devil's D@*k"

WOW! This hike was pretty hard. There is a section of it that is climbing over boulders and rocks. However, the view is amazing and the Double O Arch is pretty cool. We did not get all the way to Dark Angel, but we did get as far as the Double O Arch; if I ever go back I am going to go all the way!!!

This trail is an .5 mile extension of the the Double Arch trail and is less busy because most people stop at Double O Arch. It's worth the short amount of time it takes hike the easy trail to Dark Angel.
