Getting There

Know Before You Go. This trail accesses or travels through potential avalanche terrain. For more information and to read the daily avalanche forecast please visit: https://utahavalanchecenter.org Great mountain biking trail recently built by Deer Valley stretching between the top of Empire Pass and the Mid-Mountain trail just above the Empire Lodge. This trail is mostly used as a downhill trail but many people enjoy the climb up as well. Start near the top of Empire Pass and descend quickly through 460 feet of singletrack bliss. Corvair is not for the faint of heart. The trail includes steep pitches, big water bars, and aggressive turns. Short and sweet, Corvair dumps you out on the Mid Mountain Trail for which you can access more trails in Deer Valley and Park City Mountain Resort.

There is parking near the bottom of the trail just past the Montage and Empire Lodge if you are going up the trail. You can also park just above the trailhead on the side of the road at the summit of Empire Pass if you are heading downhill

From Park City take Marsac Avenue (224) up towards Empire Pass. Once you get to the Montage and the Empire Lodge turn left at the roundabout to continue up 224

Very fun! Not too bad for moderate. Probably more fun for mountain biking, but hiking it wasn’t too bad.

Great early morning hike - even saw some wildlife (badger, we think)...just be aware of the bikers on the switchbacks!

Good trail. Lots of bike though so be cautious if you're hiking. Pretty good chance to see some wild life.

This was not my favorite hike. There was a sprinkling of snow on the ground and we were in the shade the whole time. It's was REALLY cold! There weren't many views because you're hiking along the edge of the mountain, and the trees block most of what you can see. A lot of the trees had either already lost their leaves or were dead. I think it would have been better in the summer, but overall just not enough payoff to do this one again.

New hiker family w/ 1 nature lover and some reluctant members (and a healthy bit of bickering! ) We tried this hike and loved it! Great views.. very private.. and challenging but not too bad. Trail markers were very clear. Also- pro tip — I made my kids (teens) think of songs for each trail picture—- which really added to the bickering! You are welcome !

Excellent riding with a nice variety of trails beyond this one. Definitely challenging and fun with plenty of technical spots.

Great for morning hike in summer. There is a lot of sun exposure so would not recommend afternoon hike. Some steep hills and very high altitude but beautiful and worth the hike!

First to Review

We started at the top and rode downhill. What a fun trail. The trail is fairly smooth and it winds through cool pine forests. Really fun downhill trail. Once we reached Mid-Mountain we continued down towards Park City Resort taking Little Chief, Johns99, Johns, and Loose Moose trails
