7/1/2020 We did this trail in a jeep willy with reasonable clearance. this is not a moderate trail! many loose rocky switchbacks and narrow shelves. But doable with high clearance and trail tires. we foolishly went out there alone not knowing the trail. Great fun and very challenging. But if we had trouble not ant other traffic around. we excited by Beef Baron Road. More challenging especially at Bobby's hole. S turn up a sterp rise with a 2 ft wall to get you started. Then holes pits and a tough climb. Couldn't find the joint though we tried. From there we did 224 south to Monticello. 35 miles of back roads. great fun but you need a couple of days. I want to go back to the Devils kitchen Campground.
Actual trail was the Flint Trail down to the Dollhouse in the Maze District of Canyonlands.
I off-roaded on this trial this summer and it was awesome! It does take a while to get to from Moab since you must travel all the way to Canyonlands National Park but it was worth it. Very nice and technical trail where 4 wheel drive is a must, and having high ground clearance will help. There are some parts of the trail where you HAVE to drive backwards because the switchbacks are to narrow but it is easy. And there are also some narrow sections, and I mean NARROW! You have to actually pull in your mirrors or else you risk scraping those on the rocks! So just make sure you have a spotter or are very careful!
