Note: The Albion base area will be closed for the summer of 2019 due to construction. Due to extremely limited parking access at Cecret Lake/Catherine's Pass Trailheads and to reduce congestion on the Summer Road and in the upper Albion Basin parking areas, it is highly recommended that hikers park in the Wildcat base area parking lot and hike the Lower Albion Meadows Trail to the Upper Albion Meadows Trail or ride the $5 shuttle provided by Alta Ski Area on weekends and holidays. A wonderful family hike to beautiful alpine lake in the Little Cottonwood Canyons Albion Basin. This is a very short hike to a beautiful alpine lake in the Albion Basin region near Alta and Snowbird Ski Resorts. This area is very popular on summer weekends so parking may be difficult. Take the time to relax at the lake and take lots of photos of your family with the mountains as a backdrop.

Easy short hike, good for all skill levels. There's a trail that loops around the small lake as well. Went mid October on a weekday morning and only saw a few people on trail. There are bathrooms about 100ft from trail head.

The trail was dry. Creeks crossing the trail were frozen over and the lake was about 75% covered with ice today. Beautiful.

I loved arriving to the lake! It was beautiful. The water is freezing around the edges, but the trail was dry! I wanted an easier hike with some patches of heart pumping action, which this was. The end is more rocky. The first part is more forest like, which moves into man poured rock for cars to drive on. Those are slippery coming down, and harder for stability. The trail is clear , no question where to go.

Great hike! It was a bit cold at the parking lot, but upper was sunny. Already snow in the woods around!

Great easy trail. Was cold and very windy today. Haven't hiked for many years and this was my warm up hike. Hopefully I can get a couple more hikes in this year.

Great short sprinter up to Cecret. There were puddles and snow here and there, but mostly dry. The elevation change was definitely noticeable, but not too bad for such a short run.

This was one of the most scenic hikes I've been on. I really enjoyed it. A couple of warnings though: Most of the elevation gain is in the last 1/8 mile. If there were a rating between easy and moderate, I would place it there.

Short hike. Nice lake. But there are nicer options in the area, though this hike is relatively easy for resort goers and such. For pics, https://etbtravelphotography.com/2019/10/08/hikes-in-little-cottonwood-canyon/

Lake levels are down some at the moment. The damn reconstruction is not very attractive, but as long as you take your photos toward the mountain you can avoid the damn. Lake is very green. Still worth the trip.

Beautiful hike beautiful views! Highly recommend hanging out by the lake there are plenty of rock structures to sit on. You have to walk up a semi steep series of rocks to get to the top but totally worth it!

Did this hike with kids. It's steep and rocky but beautiful at the end. No shade along trail so wear a hat.

Fun, easy hike. Can be muddy if there has been recent rain. I recommend bringing some lunch to the lake and staying for a bit.

This is a pretty easy hike with a lovely little alpine lake at the top. The upper part of the hike is very rocky, but still not difficult. The views are beautiful along the way. It is too late in the year for wildflowers, but there was a bit of snow which just added to the serenity of the place.

This was one of my favorite hikes I’ve done here and don’t see a ton of people on it which is nice.

We went on an evening so there was almost no one at the lake. It’s beautiful! The trail gets pretty rocky and steep closer to the end but pretty easy still.

Short hike with big payoff. Wasn't super crowded, but plenty of room for people to spread out. Views for days and even saw a Bobcat up into the hills!

While I think this was an AWESOME hike, I would classify it as more of a moderate hike (at least the last half) it’s really steep and rocky. It’s just good to know that before you go, but our whole family did it! (Ages 17 down to 5). Beautiful lake and if you look you can see salamanders in it!

Busy for Labor Day but beautiful hike with some incline, carried a baby and only got mildly sweaty if that helps the moms out there
