Hiked tonight. Gorgeous hike with some steep parts and some gradual inclines. Some wildflowers were in bloom in the meadows and along the trail and it was beautiful. The trail wasn’t very crowded which was a pleasant surprise. We arrived at the lake around 7:45pm and the mosquitoes were so thick we were breathing them in along with being bitten through our clothes. Needless to say, we didn’t stay at the lake more than a few moments. Mosquitoes were only bad at, and close to, the lake. We also saw a porcupine and a moose!

So I took the trail, then diverted to Cecret Lake. The trail to Cecret Lake was very busy. I took the trail which was East of Cecret Lake to come back. Less crowded and I’m glad I did. This was a good hike, some shade some sun...I did it mid day. Had a light lunch at the lake and meditated for a while before coming back. There is something in solitude.

Nice trail. Wildflowers aren’t peaking yet, but probably in next 2-3 weeks! We started at 7am and had the trail to ourselves up to the Cecret parking lot. Pretty busy after that. Also spotted a moose with her calf on the way up and again back down, so be alert!

Gorgeous hike - not too challenging and wonderful views!! I would recommend starting here (rather than the parking lot closest to cecret), especially in summer time because the meadows and wild flowers are beautiful.

(As of 7/2 the summer road is open.) This trail from the bottom is slightly less pretty in the middle because of all the construction, but going up through the meadow is gorgeous. Wildflowers need another week or two. Cecret is always busy.

There were not a lot of hikers on this section at 10 A.M. on a Saturday morning even; when the trail linked up with the Cecret Lake Trail, there were lots of families with small children. The lake itself was so gorgeous; totally worth the moderately strenuous rocky parts. In fact, this may be my favorite 5 miler of all - ever!

Super pretty but the trails are coved in snow and water run off that will leave your shoes caked in mud. I would pack snow shoes if you want to make it to the lake and and extra pair of socks for when your current ones get soaked.

Beautiful trail, but snow was a little deep today so we decided to turn back. Definitely doable, will be back more prepared!

A great hike! Saw deer playing in the meadow. The first half is wide open and not much shade. The second half got a bit more crowded as the trail meets the shorter trail to the lake. There were a few muddy spots and a few icy spots but nothing to hinder the fun.

Good trail. the construction in the basin takes away from the scenic feel a little bit, but the lake is beautiful. had snow as of 9/21/19, but only a few inches

A good leisurely hike but with still a good gradual climb to get your heart pumping in some places. For a beginner or less active individual it'd be rated medium. For someone who gets out a lot and is active- easy. Wildflowers are dead getting ready for fall season. I went in August and saw them when they were in bloom. Some ugly construction along the trail took off the 1 star from being a 5 for me.

Overall a nice trail, but detours were annoying. If you want to really enjoy serenity, maybe not the right hike for you. Cool things! We got to see moose with 2 babies and also blotched tiger salamanders were everywhere in the lake! Cool!!!!

This trail is beautiful all along the way. I would say it's a moderate hike. It takes about three hours to do from start to finish including some relaxing time in the middle enjoying the view. I would definitely recommend it!! I'll be doing this hike again for sure!

Easy trial. A few places a little rocky but I would not say hard at all. I saw numerous 3&4 year old kids hike up to the lake no problem. Saw several ground squirrels (I think and a moose. Creeks were running across roan in a few places but just a few inches deep. Watched some climbers go up a wall. Lots of wild flowers. Didn’t know Utah had Indian paint brushes. I’d go back

Amazing trail. Very well marked and TONS of wildflowers out right now. Saw well over 15 species of flowers, lots of birds, a male and female moose. Loved this hike.

Beautiful hike once we found the trail but it was hard to find the starting point due to a lot of construction and having to detour around bulldozers and such. Ended up going off trail and then having to cross a small river to get back on track. Would wait to do this one again until construction is cleared

I loved this hike. Took me about an hour and 15 mins to get up to the lake. Spent about an hour at the lake, I walked all the way around and took pics from different angles. Slipped in the snow! Crazy there is still snow up there. Wild flowers are out and beautiful on the way up!

one of my favorite hikes to do every summer! The wildflowers are gorgeous, and you'll miss out if you take the shuttle! Park in the street and start hiking just beyond the ranger booth (the parking lot is under construction!).
