Initially I hadn't planned to do this trail because the reviews here were lackluster. However, after going down the gorge road in the car, we thought since we were here, we'd do it. I am glad we did. This is really the first long trail we've done in the park, and there are no regrets. It's easy and very scenic. Loved seeing all the varied colored and textures on the rocks and rippled sand. It was amazing. Just remember to take a lot of water and suntan lotion! The gps map here in Alltrails seemed to go about 2.25 miles into the gorge, but where we turned around (there was a cool alcove there in my pictures), the gorge trail did not end there. Maybe the park boundary ends at the end of the trail here on Alltrails? We did not know how much further the trail went, so we turned around.
