Great little easy trail. We took the entire family. The trail ends at the lava tube trail. If you turn left onto the lava tube trail, down 50 yards is a great lava tube/cave you can get down in. That was the best part of the hike! The cave is also 20+ degrees cooler. Very refreshing in a hot day. Bring a flashlight so you can explore the cave!

We took Butterfly Trail to Lava Tube Trail. It was okay. Super easy trail. We forgot our head lamps in the car so we only went part way into the actual tube. Next time we'll explore that area more and take just Lava Tube Trail. Super hot in July so sunscreen, hat, and water is a must.

Tame trail with classic Southwest scenery. Takes you from the Petrified Dunes Trail (my favorite in the park) to the Lava Tubes (most disappointing in the park). I wouldn't make this trail a destination unto itself, but it's a pleasant enough connector between the two.

Beautiful trail with beautiful rocks. Go a little further into the lava trail and go into the cave on the right side of the trail. Worth it for the cool down.

A must do in Snow Canyon state park if you ask me. We were lucky enough to see bunnies, squirrels, lizards and butterflies. The rock formations were great as well. There are a few spots to get some shade but not many so wear sunscreen and bring water.

This was a really nice trail. You do have to climb and scramble over a few rocks. But nothing too difficult. There are plenty of rock formations to explore. Great for family.

We did a modified loop of several trails. We started on Hidden Pinon then to Petrified Dunes to Butterfly Trail to Lava Flow then back to the West Canyon Road and back to Hidden Piñon.

One of my favorite hikes I’ve ever done. The view is incredible and you’re able to climb into the lava caves and explore a bit.

Super easy hike, but a bomb exploring one (can keep where it's level or explore upwards). It is a protected area, so keep on the trail to protect the vegetation and stuff.

HikingNo shade

This is one of my favorite hikes I’ve ever done, because of the lava tubes towards the end. You can climb into the tubes/caves pretty far, and it is a super cool experience! But be careful in the tubes and bring water! Keep in mind there is no shade, only really in the tubes and they’re still pretty warm, so be hydrated, and protected. It’s located in Snow Canyon, so there is a small fee to explore the State Park.

Hiking

We did this trail after a very long day of hiking and it was the perfect way to end. As said, the hike is fairly easy, but the lava tubes are spectacular. At the end of the butterfly trail, the path splits into two if you go left you'll hit a massive lava tube that you can explore easily (with flashlights) to the right is a smaller tube, if you're little you can still crawl in a ways, but cool to look at regardless. A great end to the day!

The hike itself was okay, but the lava tube was AMAZING! We will definitely be back again—next time with headlamps! When you get to the T in the trail, the lava tube is 100 meters down the left fork of the Lava Tube Trail.
