This is one of those hikes where you will enjoy the journey more than the destination. Brown's Hole is just a muddy hole of brown gross water. However, there is so much to see on this trail. I suspect it would be brutally hot in the summer but the end of September was a perfect time to hike it. It follows the power lines the entire way and has two river crossings which were manageable. I saw moose, deer, beautiful fall leaves, and grouse and the views of the rock cliffs above and the river down below is wonderful. There are a few places to camp along trail and there are lots of Elder Berries along the trail that are now ripe.
