Getting There

Easy hike along the shore of ancient Lake Bonneville The Bonneville Shoreline Trail (BSLT) is a hiking and bicycle path running across the foothills of the Wasatch Range along a route that follows the eastern shoreline of ancient Lake Bonneville. Since there are multiple access points and its proximity to the local community the BSLT is a heavily used trail by joggers hikers and mountain bikers. The trail runs along the 5200 feet level usually just above the homes and farms of these three small communities. The BSLT is perfect for an evening hike or a early morning walk or bike ride. Few people walk the trail from end to end - most prefer a mile or two out and back. While on the trail you will enjoy deer and birds and the peaceful sounds of any of the seven creeks that cross the trail. The views are beautiful with the Great Salt lake and Antelope Island to the West. The sunsets are incredible.

Easy trail, great view majority of the time. Decent amount of shade and water for taking dogs. Would recommend going either morning or evening.

Great trail. There isn’t a lot of shade but it’s nice for a trail run.

Beautiful trail. Lots of bikers. Too long to go all the way with a two year old, but great to stop halfway where there is a bridge and water!

Good day today on the trail. Lots of folks leaving dog mess so that’s no good. Other than that it’s heating up out there everyone be safe.

I’m new to trail running and this trial did not disappoint! Lots of snow and mud but worth the struggle!

I would recommend this trail to anyone looking for a dog friendly trail. Not over exerting but long enough that it can be a good workout. Great view of the valley and the lake. A bit slippery during the winter because of the snow.
