Super fun hike that has trails to choose from. Only thing is, there’s little to no shade, so pack up on water and probably don’t bring pets unless it’s a cool or shady day. Looks like a popular place for bikers too. I did Blackridge trail and some of Eric’s trail - they were easy and very enjoyable. Eric’s trail is more green and has trees along the way

I love this trail for running! It would be fun for hiking as well, but a heck of a challenge to run on! So fun! No shade so go early or later on in the evening. Spectacular views!

Beautiful morning hike. Watching the sun rise over the Wasatch Mountains is a refreshing way to start the day. The west side valley views give a different perspective from traditional Northern Utah hikes. My favorite part was the cute motivational painted rocks. I wore my sunglasses the entire time and would have struggled without them due to the lack of shade. Luckily it wasn’t hot because I went early. This is a heavily trafficked trail with an assortment of hikers, runners, and bikers.

It was a nice trail. Doesn’t really have a good view. However, there is a cute place with a ton of painted rocks you can paint and leave and then take one. It can get very very windy. There is no shade. Other than that it was a great hike to not wear yourself out but to get a good exercise in

Good quick hike with a good view of Salt Lake Valley. Pretty windy and not a lot of shade. Some bikers on the trail so just be alert.

Decent because there are not a lot of people who use the trail. But watch out for bikers, and there is not really any shade.

A great trail for an evening hike, just look out for bikers. Dog friendly. It’s not a pretty trail, but it’s good for getting a little exercise.

Pretty easy hike overall. Just went halfway on the trail with my 9 year old chocolate lab and he did just fine. Can get busy with bikers and other hikers but other than that it’s a great walk!

This trail was a lot of fun, but scenery is “meh”. Without the overcast sky it would have been horribly hot and sunny, but as it was it was nice. Go an a cooler and overcast day! We did however see lots of birds and that was a happy surprise. My 5yr old son was able to keep up, but I don’t think my 3yr old could have.

We did a full loop, starting on blackridge, then to diamondback loop, to sidewinder and back to blackridge (but you can go either way). Little bit rocky, but not bad. Saw quite a few mountain bikers so be mindful of that. Would recommend going in the morning or late afternoon as there is no shade. Overall, this was a nice and easy hike with pretty views of the valley- would recommend for all ages.

Nice trail if you don’t have much time. We did it in a little over an hour. No shade, so definitely wouldn’t do it in the heat of the summer. Beautiful wildflowers. We did see a snake right off the trail & my boys loved that.

The reservoir is pretty. Someone has painted rocks with inspirational messages which was nice. It’s a little crowded. The downside is: There was so much dog crap. Why do people travel to a nice trail and leave their dog crap there? Please be responsible and take care of natural spaces or don’t bring your dog. We are new to all trails and hope Utahns don’t do this everywhere.
