September 7, 2018. Hiked Blackhawk trail heading NE from Blackhawk campground road down to Loafer mountain trail head on Nebo Loop road and back. Friday late afternoon and early evening...didn't pass anyone else on the trail. Saw a flock of about 30 wild turkeys. Lots of cows along trail. Moderate inclines and most areas typical of scenery around Nebo mountains. Some sections with large amounts of thistle along the trail.

Check out my Recording map w/photos: Blackhawk to Frank Young Canyon, Aug 24, 2018. Blackhawk is a longer trail with several spots that make good out-and-back hikes along sections of the trail. For this hike I started at Blackhawk trail head moving southwest from the parking area on Blackhawk campground road. Decent trail with good mix of aspens, pines, and scrub oak. About 80% in shade. Moderate inclines in some areas but mostly its very modest slopes. Quite a few cows and some cow paths intersect with trail, but the most used looking path is correct route. Pretty views down towards Moroni valley and occasional peaks of Nebo at times along trail. Long pants were helpful on this trail as there was quite a bit of brush and tall weeds along side of trail. I will hike this again. As this segment of the Blackhawk trail drops down then climbs back up I don't know that it would be a very good mountain bike trail.

Unreal. Views are incredible. Do the loop trail and come back via Jones Ranch Trail. That was the best part
