I would recommend this trail to anyone looking for a challenge. The sweeping views are breathtaking, and there’s an obstacle around almost every bend. There are 2 or 3 river crossings that have no bridges, and the trail is washed out in spots. Also, there was a large avalanche up there this winter. Much of the snow is gone, but there are downed aspens all across the switchbacks leading to the Big Baldy saddle. I found it was easier in some parts to just walk straight up the chute, instead of maneuvering through the tangle. Great preparation for hiking Timp in August!
