Bearclaw-Poppy is a single-track that can be ridden in either direction, but the trail is at its best when starting from the Gap Trailhead. This puts the rider in a downhill mode, taking full advantage of the rolling terrain. The trail can be ridden as an out and back or use the city streets to make a loop. We give this trail an Easy rating, but riders must exercise caution because of the occasional steep hill. Known as Acid Drops, Clavicle Hill, and the 3 Fingers of Death these hills should be given respect. Throughout the entire trail, easier routes are marked so bikers can ride around the more challenging sections.

Great mountain biking trail. Not sure why this is listed at the "Green Valley Loop Trail" as its actual name is the "Bear Claw Poppy Trail." This has been maintained very well and is a great loop. My wife who is very new to mountain biking found the trail somewhat difficult in sections but for the avid mountain biker, this is a classic St. George trail that everyone should ride at least once.

Great trail. Got a bit lost. Trail marker is misleading at top. Says to go left when you need to go right. Map app got us back on track. Uphill was good steady not too steep. Downhill very fast in some areas.

I am on the local mountain bike team flying monkeys and this is my favorite trail EVER! We usually go up stucki springs and come back. The first two miles are called roller coaster and it is just rolling hills! Lots of jumps and lots of fun times. Although I have crashed a lot so don't go too fast that you can't control your speed.

A great trail to spend an afternoon. Took my wife for her first taste of mountain biking, as well as her first ride on her new bike. Both of us kept it on two wheels, not bad for a couple of 40 something's! Planning on brining out 10 year down for his first trail experience this weekend. Good trail for anyone at any level.

Nothing like this in California. (Where in from) so the trail head is actually at the end of Navajo Rd. Free parking drive into the dirt road entrance is on right. Your Welcome. Also stick to the left for Easy ride. Stick to the right for Difficult aka FUN PART. It is a loop trail in that it loops at the top, but you come back the same way to came. When you head back down. Easy/ super fast right side. Left side: Little tuff if your on the wrong gear DHers warning not 100% DH some great DH parts. Perfect for a great trail bike. Very technical but still fast LOTS OF BMX STYLE JUMPS on the bottom. But yes it's a Roller Coaster of fun LOTS of choices. GREAT RIDE. Will be coming back next time in in Utah.

I have ridden this loop countless times and it remains a favorite of mine. Coming down from the semi-technical Fingers of Death to the not-to-rough Clavicle Hill, to the fun roller coaster at the bottom, this trail just flows well. It's great for all skill levels!

I agree with all the other reviews. This is a great trail with something for everyone. There are a few technical spots that are really fun but anyone that doesn't feel comfortable can easily walk their bike around there areas.
The last part of the ride is my favorite, its a roller coaters of single track that with small jumps but can be handled by anyone.
Highly Recommend this ride.

Best trail in saint George. Pure fun. It does have some steep drop-offs but there is nothing you can't go around. Very easy. You can either go out and back starting at the bottom in Bloomington or you can do the whole trail starting in green valley by "the gap" (a rock climbing crag which is also awesome) and ending in Bloomington.
