Getting There

Bearclaw-Poppy is a single-track that can be ridden in either direction, but the trail is at its best when starting from the Gap Trailhead. This puts the rider in a downhill mode, taking full advantage of the rolling terrain. The trail can be ridden as an out and back or use the city streets to make a loop. We give this trail an Easy rating, but riders must exercise caution because of the occasional steep hill. Known as Acid Drops, Clavicle Hill, and the 3 Fingers of Death these hills should be given respect. Throughout the entire trail, easier routes are marked so bikers can ride around the more challenging sections.

Still one of my favorite mountain biking trails around St. George/ Hurricane. This and the JEM trails take the gold for best trails around the area

I love this trail so much!!! It’s like a mini rollercoaster! Wish it wasn’t so busy is all. Every time it’s packed. Worth it.

Good ride in and out. Included Stucki Springs for longer climb on the way out. Did some backtracking on the way back because I missed the direct trail back. Good ride.

I rode this traii as part of a longer ride today. The breeze was blowing and it was sunny about 85°F. I loved it! It’s been a long time since I went on a MTB trail and so I was still a bit hesitant on some parts. However, easier paths are usually clearly marked on the “Downhill” section and so I made it through with a smile on my face! Happy trails, folks.

From the zen trail connector it’s an intermediate trail. (Don’t being beginner wife) Lots of fun on the flowy stuff.

10 stars! I absolutely love this trail! Do the entire loop, not just the uphill/downhill portion.

I went hiking there nice trail and it’s pretty cool to run down the tracks when on your way back. You just have to learn to share the trail with the bikers there are a lot there !!! Oh you can take your dogs on the trail too pretty cool

Fun trail. Even when the parking lot looks busy with mountain bikers it’s pretty quiet once you’re on the trail. Around 5.2 miles pay attention to signs since it’s easy to follow the wrong path.

One of my absolute favorites! The up hill is long and gradual, with not too much sand, and down downhill through bear claw poppy is dramatic and exciting!

Definitely a local favorite for a reason. Enjoyed the climb and down hill sections. Three fingers aren’t as scary as reviewed. Greatly enjoyed will be back soon.
