First half mile is totally exposed. The rest is pretty shaded, mostly overgrown. Pants would have been nice, but not necessary. Found the waterfall about 1.3 miles in. Just after there is a large (25 foot+ cascade) that I couldn't find a safe way to look at. I believe the trail used to continue on, but at the final crossing I tried both paths marked with plastic ties and both ended quickly.
GPX is misleading. I used the same path up and down along the river. Did make the big loop near the beginning to catch a view across the city.
