Took Silver Lake Express to Silver Lake Trail. Went clockwise up to Bald Mountain and had lunch. Great scenic views of the lodges and lake. Silver Lake cuts across a bunch of ski trails which are interesting to see in the summer. Ontario trail is fairly easy going down / quick with moderate technical challenges. Not very picturesque aside from the Aspen trees.

Medium difficulty hike up to see the river. Ends in a minor waterfall (high, but not a lot of water). Red stones and juniper trees abound. Good elevation gain! 50+

Not a very exciting trail. I hiked this loop clockwise and was really unimpressed. it starts at Deer Valley. If you want to park at the trail head parking is $30 for the day. It's a nice climb through the woods at the start, that was the nicest part of the trail. There are good views, but lots of exposure with little shade. The trail was very busy. Overall, it's not a terrible trail, just fairly boring.

Nice trail. We hiked up the Silver Lake side and down Ontario. I am surprised some people said Ontario wasn’t as pretty as Silver. It doesn’t have the views of the valley, but it is still a pretty trail and we enjoyed the whole loop! We packed dinner to eat at the top and started at 5pm which made it shaded almost the whole way.

Hard to imagine a more scenic loop, especially the Silver Lake leg. The trail description suggests a lot of sun exposure but my guess is that roughly half the hike is shaded.

We hiked up Silver Lake and down Ontario. It was interesting to see both trails and walk through the Aspen groves on the Ontario Trail. This being said, I would recommend going up and back Silver Lake and skipping Ontario. Views from the Silver Lake Trail are amazing. We are from Vermont and the altitude did not bother us!

We did the Ontario trail yesterday. The wild flowers were in spectacular form. The shade was perfect for an afternoon hike. Flying bugs were out like crazy.

We did silver lake up and took the free ski lift down. Took about 1:15 with stops on the way. Towards the top I felt like I was in “the sound of music “. Mostly shady until the top. Beautiful views.

This isn't as really a loop hike as much as it's two out and backs that meet at the summit. If I were to do it again, I would go up and back on the Silver Lake trail and skip Ontario. The Silver Lake trail was so lovely!! it wasn't an easy hike, it's a pretty challenging two miles up. You can take the lift for one way or the other, but I much prefer the going up to the coming down! It's hard, but the decline is pretty steep in spots and our feet were really sore. It wasn't too crowded and the views were beautiful! It was nice and cool at the top and there was plenty of shade on the trail.

Very fun hike! The Silver Lake Trail is prettier than the Ontario but overall it was a great day.

We started our hike up the tour de homes trail at Deer Valley. This trail was a great way to get started. Saw a lot of nice homes and it was an easy climb. We then got on the Ontario Trail and headed up to Bald Mountain. Great views, but be careful of the bikers. When we got to the top there were a lot going of great sites to see. Headed back down the mountain on Silver Lake Trail, the hot back on the Tour De Homes Trail. Ended the hike back at Deer Valley. 8 mile loop hike took about 3 hours and was well worth it.

Awesome hike to bring your pup along. Even though this trail says “no shade” I’d say a good 75% of the trail was shaded on and off. Parts were rocky but no issues if you are wearing some good ankle support shoes.

Came out to be 4 mile for me. Steep hike up with amazing views. Beautiful trails that occasionally overlap the MTB trails. Still some snow.
