Fun hike. will do it again. There is some very deep sand and steep hills at the end.

Good trail. Hard to follow in some places and the sand hill after the arch is hell.

Fun hike. Lots of sand and sand rock formations. Definitely trails are not marked well. We all enjoyed the hike. Parents, grand parents, aunt, uncle and two kids and two dogs.

We love hiking this as a family. It’s not hard hiking, but the trail is easy to lose track of in some spots. I love that it’s not crowded. I recommend going down the dunes to the arch then continuing on to the river and loop back up from there. You get to take in the river view & also don’t have to climb back up the big sand hill. Saw a coyote today and two rattlers last time. If you have an AWD vehicle with decent clearance you can cut the hike in half by driving up to the Primitive Campsite and starting from there. The road is rough though. Also there is very little shade so plan accordingly.

Enjoyed this hike! First time we accidentally ended up in ancient Babylon trail. 2nd attempt we found the arch on our way back on the trail. We somehow got off the trail and made it down to the river. If you hit the river you’ve gone too far. Some of the signs are misleading. Once the arch is found it is a beautiful site

The trail was unmarked, very windy so our tracks got blown away in the sand. We couldn’t even make it all the way threw it was just an over all bad experience. The views were nice it was just kind of scary to go threw and unable to find the way back. If you’re very adventurous and have good spatial orientation then go for it. Probably not the best hike with young kids either.

Beautiful trail! It’s worth noting that the drive to the hike is an adventure in itself. You probably want an awd/4wd vehicle to get there.

Beautiful formations all along the trail. Sometimes hard to keep the trail but watch for cairns and trail markers.
