Great hike. It's really close to the city. It's a bit easier than the Living Room, but fairly similar in overall difficulty. I started today at 9:50am and the temperature ended up being very nice. There was a nice breeze for most of the hike. It's probably best to start before 9am or in the evening, during the summer, since there's very little shade. This is a very popular hike so you're likely to see a lot of people and dogs during peak hours. And sometimes a lot of mountain bikes in the first part of the hike. If you're feeling like a much more difficult challenge, go farther to Black Mountain, but start much earlier.

Beautiful views for the entire trail!! Also really quiet - I only saw 3 other hikers for my entire hike! Lots of sun exposure, so make sure you wear sunscreen and bring lots of water.

First trail run together. On the way up ran the less steep and flat parts. Jogged most of the way down except for steep parts. Started around 4 pm on a hot, sunny afternoon. Excellent views per usual!

This trail was fantastic it was very steep at certain areas had a pretty consistent incline on the way up give or take a few small areas. If your looking for a challenge would definitely recommend!

for the most part this is a moderate trail, until you are 1/4 mile from the twin peaks, then it's definitely a HARD trail. You have to be very careful ip at the top because of all the loose gravel & steep slopes. The views are beautiful. Thankfully we were lucky & had mild cloud cover all the way up, but the sun showed up on our way down. No one had their dogs on leashes. Plus people left their dogs poop bags at the beginning of the trail. That's a big no no in my book. Bring a lot of water. However there are not bathrooms at the trailhead.

Spectacular view of Salt Lake valley! It’s a little misleading with <900 feet elevation because there’s quite a bit of up and down. Great trail for hiking, running or cycling. Just a note...we passed lots of dogs and not one was on leash. All well behaved and no poop on the trail. Perfect little escape!

This hike is easy to access from downtown and does not disappoint! The inclines were challenging, but not anything that breaks your stride. Friends and I did this yesterday and it was nice and cool. I would hesitate to do this on a hot day since there’s no shade.

This was my second time here so I opted to take the black mountain trail & got as far as I could as I had to wrk. Took my dog with me since it was cooler this morning with it being cloudy. Only passed a handful of people & pretty much had the trail to ourselves. There are still wildflowers here & it’s super green. The trail is steep in spots but it doesn’t last long. I didn’t get to do the final push up black mt but it supposedly gets steep at the end.

It’s the neighborhood trailhead I regularly enjoy taking guests visiting from out of town near sunset, or simply doing with friends when the weather is right ...Scenic views of the Wasatch Front at top! I love to call it a “uphill battle” hike since it’s one w/ lots of hills. Great workout tho

Very hot on the trail this morning! Most of the trail is unshaded after the first half mile or, so come prepared with sun protection! Not a lot of people on the trail today, but saw lots of wildflowers and one lizard near the first peak. Gorgeous views from the top of both peaks, definitely worth the climb!

Beautiful hike. The last half mile or so is fairly steep, but manageable. Lots of hills, so a good booty workout. Gorgeous and not too crowded.
