It gives you a little more exercise than expected at this attitude . It is a nice loop with some stunning views. Enjoy the the changing of leaves that is in full colour on Sept 28, 2020.

Moderately trafficked trail. Beautiful yellow aspen along the trail. Lava rock too. The pond was lovely. I can see how this trail shines in July when the wildflowers are in bloom. Nevertheless I’d recommend this trail. The nature trail has a guide at the head for $2.00.

Nice short hike in Cedar Breaks National Monument. The lower trail takes you down and back up with great views. The upper Trail is more level and just small grade changes.

HikingGreat!

Very beautiful loop trail. Can venture off to another trail instead of looping back if you wish. Some minor switchbacks and a hill by the pond, but my little ones did great!

HikingGreat!

This is a fee area - pay your $10/person at the visitors' center unless you already have a national parks pass. Beautiful little trail. I bought the brochure, but unlike most other reviewers I thought it was a waste of money. It felt like they were really stretching the information they were sharing just to give people breaks. A few things were interesting, but I wouldn't miss it. That being said, the hike was great. Definitely do the larger loop, not just the north side. The views and flowers are fantastic on both sides of the loop. This hike was easy enough to do after we'd spent all day driving and setting up camp. It was a nice relaxing end to our evening.

if you're not interested in the info panels /brochure explanations, this is the most efficient way to get to the pond and back. But why bother? This isn't really the best alpine/subapline scenery out there and the value add is the info from the posts/brochure, which you'd only be getting half of. Please do yourself a favor by competing the full loop and donating $2 for the brochure!

Loved the hike—now open. Rare snow banks. Great easy way to see firs, spruce, alpine pond with majestic views of amphitheater

We did the north end. A very pleasant walk and saw frogs. Don't expect views of the amphitheatre. The aspens were just beginning to turn.

Good for a quick family nature walk. Shade off and on. Glad we did it but probably wouldn't do it again.
