Alligator Lake Trail is a 5.7 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Mountain View, Utah that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is best used from March until September. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
Take Wyoming State Highway 410 South out of Mountain View about 6 miles to a junction. Then take SR 017, a well-maintained gravel road, south about 12 miles to a fork. The east road (Road 0770 heads south about 5 miles to Henrys Fork.
The trail was beautiful in the fall, with the aspen's turning a yellow. The trail is well maintained, and easy to follow. The lake is pretty, but many of the trees in the area are dead from something (disease/pine beetles/etc), which detracts from the view a little. We made camp here our first day in the area, and it didn't disappoint. Worth checking out.
