Easy terrain. Not a whole lot to see, but it is a pleasant forested trail. Only saw 5 other groups the entire time on a Sunday afternoon.

Longer than expected. Well maintained trail and trail signs. Not very Interesting scenary. Pretty much the same throughout the trail except for one area that had a stretch of what looked like baby palm trees. Good hike to burn calories.

Pros - quiet, shady, didn’t see a single other person on a Friday afternoon... Cons - the spiders, man. I made it 2/3 and turned around when I came across the largest spider I’ve ever seen in my life.

Great trail. Clean path. Decent amount of webs. Lots of deer and hog tracks. Saw a copperhead and rat snake. Both next to the trails, but quick to get away from us. Lot of interesting mushrooms!

This was actually great, but at the end of the river trail my fiancé got stung by a ton of bees... made a shorter trip out of it

The perfect shaded area for a good hike. Avoid visiting after rain, otherwise plan for a muddy day. Great nature walk. Calm and secluded park. Great off road feel. Don’t forget mosquito repellent and water.

Bugs

Didn't get to the logger's or yaupon loop because I forgot bug spray and was tormented on the forest trail. PACK DEET! Very pretty trail though. Was disappointed I couldn't make it further.

Only tried the Yaupon and have not looped into the Forest and Loggers trail, not bad at all and I look forward to coming back to this trail.

First to Review

My wife and I went on this hike on 4/19/19 and it was a swampy mess. The logger's loop was mostly fine, but once we got to Yaupon it was horrible. I would not recommend the Yaupon portion for the foreseeable future. The trail needs at least a month of dry weather to be traversable.
