A nice relaxing walk with views of the Brazos River and good wildflower displays. Gnats were bad on an unseasonably cool Mother's Day in mid-May after some heavy rains. The pond/lake at the north end of the park is dry and overgrown with weeds with part of its dam breached, possibly a Harvey casualty. The northern segment of the trail that runs across the dam is currently closed as a consequence.

I love the history at this place, so I fear I may be a little bias and attribute more. I love this place. the nature trail has its moments, but just when it gets good, it goes back to bleh.the tour and barrington farm are my favorite.
