This is a great, short hike through the desert to a spring (as the name would imply). The trail is clearly marked and easily followed. Rather than return by the same trail, we opted to explore some of the surrounding area and bushwhack our way back to our vehicle.
On the day we visited, water was plentiful in the spring.
I'm not really sure what the criteria is for rating - length, difficulty, etc?- but for our purposes (a moderate "recovery" hike after a grueling 14-mile hike the day before) it was just the ticket. Great views of the open desert to the west and mountains to the east.
