I would recommend this trail to anyone with kids or a stroller. The terrain is not to steep and it is mostly paved with a walk way. The trail has lots of shade and benches for tired lil legs, perfect for kids.

Nice but short but if you get lost you could add extra miles lol. Highly recommend for a run or walk.

It is shorter than I thought, great place for a leisurely walk. Wouldn’t recommend it for a medium length run or any type of biking.

Not for hikers or pack-training as my feet never left concrete. Perfect for inner-city outings with families, biking, or quality time.

This is most of the Walnut Creek Linear trail in Mansfield. Love this trail lots of shade and birds. Never quite get away from road noise but still peaceful - includes 4 parks, 3 with mixed use facilities.

Walking

Some Sun but lots of great shade. Moderate use-depends on your definition. Biking, skateboarders, walking, some with babies in strollers or dogs... everyone was pretty good about being polite while passing etc. Lots of birds and squirrels along with wildflowers. The trail joins four parks. James McKnight, a linear park section, Kathryn Rose Memorial Park, and Mansfield Town Park, with a short extension out toward Alice Ponder Elementary School. Kids playgrounds bathroom facilities, Rest benches, and picnic benches throughout. It can be broken down into some smaller loops if desired.

Took my dog on her first walk here, rainy day so not a lot of traffic. Lots of shade along the way except one or two spots. Facilities-playground, restrooms, pavilions etc... at each of the 3 regular parks. On a nice day moderate trail use. Lots of jogging, walking, biking and dog walking. Everyone was respectful and shared the path well. Lots of cardinals and squirrels.

Very.nicely paved suburban trail. Goes under highways and behind homes but feels safe and it's well maintained. A few geocaches near trail and in the area.

I love walking along this trail. It is well traveled, but not every crowded! I also enjoy connecting with the trails that lead to the Katherine Rose park.
