Beautiful scenery but pretty poorly marked. We connected to Haynes ridge trail which was marked a lot better. We started at 8:00am in June and it was nice and cool. By the time we finished it was pretty hot but not unbearable. Brought hydration packs and used maybe 1/4. Views were amazing. Definitely some loose gravel on the steep ascents and descents but nothing too tough. Would not bring a dog unless a very seasoned hiker as there is hardly any shade and a lot of cactus.

This trail is an easy hike. It is narrow for the first 100 yards then opens up with beautiful red rock vistas, hoodoos, quartz layered rock walls and fields of beautiful wildflowers. We made it within about 80 yards of the end when a lone buffalo blocked the trail at a wash, we tried to wait him out but he wasn't moving and the bugs won. We turned around to enjoy the views on the way out. I definitely recommend wearing a bug repellent though.
