A really fun hike

Not very difficult if you're an active person, the worst part was the bugs! I didn't use any bug spray like a rookie so they got me. Bikers are polite and it was fun seeing horses and dogs about. Highly recommend. Took about 1.5 hours to complete.

The Givens, Spicer, Lowery Trail is breathtaking! We included it in our day of hiking to the Lighthouse from the very pleasant Paseo del Rio Trail. The lovely 2+ mile Little Fox Canyon Trail is worth the time off GSL and back. There's a sweet shaded picnic table on Little Fox's loop to enjoy a break from sun & heat. These 3 trails total 10.5 miles per my GPS.
The Capital Peak Trail is for bikes only.

We did the GSL and Little Fox Canyon Loop, rather than Capitol Peak. The GSL is a great trail for hiking for biking. The Little Fox loop has more vegetation and the horse flies were a constant nuisance. Nice views though.
I should note that GSL is hiking and biking, while Capitol Peak is biking only.

GSL Trail in Palo Duro State Park is a great trail to hike. 3.1 miles and back to make this 6 to 7 mile hike a great experience. Moderate to Difficult ... I would take your hiking sticks and 3 to 4 bottles of water in June.

Simply stunning run. Some technical sections, but overall good footing.

This was a beautiful, scenic trail through the canyon. It had a few technical spots in the first mile. Has a spot where you can lock up your bike and climb up to Lighthouse Rock. The view is worth it. Bring plenty of water on this ride; the canyon gets hot.
