Great day for a hike! We started at 10am and only came across a few small groups.
The hike was worth it, trails are not clearly marked and intersects with a several other trails. I could not find the loop, but was able to hike around the area.
A nice, diverse trail with varying difficulty along the way/some scenic views. Watch out for mountain bikers, some paths are very narrow. Before we hiked this trail, we read all the complaints about trash, so we took a couple of trash bags and filled them up. We encourage others to do the same.
The trail is great, some parts leisurely and some parts are more challenging. A lot of slippery rocks towards the beginning. Trash everywhere, took bags and picked a lot of it up!
NOT an "easy" trail; lots of steep and rocky inclines/declines. It gets really muddy in some places if the weather has been wet, so pick your footwear accordingly. Hopefully you have plenty of time if this is your first visit since the nearly nonexistent and incredibly inconsistent trail markers will most likely cause you to get lost.
Like others said, lots of broken glass but I only noticed that at the beginning. Some trash sprinkled about but I didn’t think it was that bad. The very beginning of the loop is very steep and rocky, not great for dogs or children, but the rest of the trail is pretty flat and easy to maneuver. Different spots along the trail to see small waterfalls and play on boulders. I would recommend hiking boots over tennis shoes due to a need to walk through water and added ankle support over the rocks. I’ll definitely be going back!
Very gorgeous but heads up it’s rocky so wear good shoes with ankle support. The trails aren’t marked that well so we got a little lost but minus that it was perfect. We are for sure gonna do it again.
The trail is GORGEOUS, but I was really sad about how much trash there was. We took our dog and had to carry him through some spots because of all the broken glass on the ground. I would definitely recommend not taking your dog with you unless he has booties to protect his feet. There is some loose gravel on the entrance trail that goes downhill so use caution because you WILL slip lol. Again, loose gravel and tons of broken glass is a bit dangerous, so be extra cautious with children!!! If I ever go back, I’ll probably bring trash bags, because it was pretty bad :(
Nice trail, heavy traffic, lots of trash/glass, trail maintained.
Some rocky bits you have to be careful on but a nice moderate trek. Saw some pipers, vultures & cardinals on the trail.
