Spring Creek Trail Greenway Trail: Dennis Johnston to I-45 is a 6.3 mile out and back trail located near Spring, Texas that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, running, and bird watching. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Amazing. Loved it. So many parks. Lots of playground. Started at Dennis Johnston Park. Stopped at Pundt Park.
Decent trail for bike riding and jogging, paved the whole way. Passes Spring Creek and a number of lakes reclaimed from gravel pits. Interesting, but traffic noise from 99 and 45 will be your constant companion
Very popular trail for bikers and hikers on weekends and holiday. The packs of wannabe bike racers are obnoxious going much faster than posted speed, however, they are spaced infrequently and are not enough to spoil a pleasant hike. The trail is mostly shaded but does open up at several points to let you get your vitamin D from the sun and some nice views of Spring Creek.
another great ride on another beautiful day. did see a snake, harmless grass snake but some people still freak out for some reason when they see a snake in the woods
This is a trail so it’s not designed for one specific activity. The bikers ride the trail extremely toooooooo fast, like the trail belongs to them. This trail needs to be monitored 24/7 it’s really dangerous. Runners or walkers shouldn’t be afraid because the bikers act like they’re on the street, this needs to stop.
If you want paved and long distance path away from the road, this is the trail for you!
Great trail. Paved path with lots of shade from trees along the way. Several beautiful vantage points for taking photos. Various birds singing. Wild flowers along the paths. Someone along the trail mentioned seeing a snake. I didn’t see any. There are some side dirt trails off the main path but this trip I stayed on the main path. Maybe next time I’ll explore.
This is a pleasant paved path through some woods (and under some freeways) with a couple of nice vantage points - overlooking Spring Creek and a small lake in the woods. It’s got shade most of the time but there are a few uncovered sunny spots. Elevation gain is minimal, very easy to walk/jog/bike. Currently the seating is all roped off due to COVID-19 but there are benches in the scenic spots.
Paved asphalt trail along spring creek. Quite and beautiful. Very easy to walk, run, or ride a bike.
Hogs have been through recently so narrowed down a lot and rooted up, but decent hike overall.
