Speakeasy Loop is a 2.5 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Fort Worth, Texas that features a waterfall and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
awesome beautiful place! like everyone in the comments is saying there is trash here. after reading these comments I went to the store, purchased some trash bags and did my part of filling as many as I could before dark and in the freezing cold . if you want to gripe about trash DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. Other wise you are simply repeating the same useless comments and then going on about your life so that the next person can post their useless trash comment.
Very crowded today, but then again there aren't too many Saturdays in January when it's 70 and sunny. Lots of broken glass about a half-mile in, I felt I needed to carry my dog to protect her paws. Very rocky/gravely at places. I would recommend some sort of ankle support if you're prone to injuries.
Good trail. Fun to hike but the park has been converted into a mountain bike trail park.
A nice quick hike on the green trail. Good for people but not dogs with a lot of glass on the trail. A brisk walk will get you heart rate up and make it a quick day. Some good views along the way.
As others have rated, this was a nice park that needs some trash attention. Otherwise the trails are rocky with some being a pretty nice challenge to maneuver through. This is indeed a mountain bike trail, so be ready to step aside to let them by. Going down to the West Fork Trinity River and dam was fun and a great photo opportunity.
There was glass shards consistently out in the trail. I’d be careful walking your dog out on the trails.
Amazing views. There was some broken glass. Trails not clearly marked. Overall a great adventure.
It was ok. Nice trail on the rocky side. Views were different...a good panoramic of lake and industrial so not typical but appreciated. Well marked but a few times we did look at maps. 10% of the trail did have lots of broken glass mainly at beginning, end and overlooks, otherwise not bad. Most disappointed in seeing the other visitors complete disregard for park rules: one parent had his 7 year old riding an ATV riding on the large grassy area right in parking lot by a sign that clearly said NO MOTORIZED vehicles! I will return just to check o out a few more trails but I wouldn’t put this at top of my list. I also don’t know if I’d venture here by myself. I do applaud the City of FW though for provided this public space.
Great trail...lots of cars in the parking lot but hardly passed anyone. If trash bothers you, let’s all do our part to keep great places like this clean. Bring a bag and pick some up!
Best trail in Fort Worth other than Eagle Mountain Park trails. There was quite a bit of mountain biker activity but it was easy enough to hear them coming and get off the trail. The middle section of it was recently paved. It's a nice break in-between the start and ends sections. We left the trail after the paved section to head south to the damn/waterfall. It was very easy to find the other trails, everything is marked. We eventually went west toward the lake (in front of the dam) and worked our way back up to the parking lot. Catching the sun setting on the lake was very nice.
Loved it. Not too busy (started it around 3pm). Great views. Clearly marked trails. Not as dirty as others made it out to be but yes we did see some amounts of litter closer to the trail entrances and exits. We ran by other people only about 5 times throughout our entire time. Surprisingly did not run into any mountain bikers on this specific loop even though we did see groups of them starting at the train end
A great trail! We took our dog and he had a great time! Pretty long on the lone wolf but so worth the views and exercise for us and dog!
too many rocks haha just kidding it’s badly marked so don’t get lost lol
Amazing scenic views. I'm a beginner hiker, but there's easy to advanced paths. The speakeasy loop is interwoven with the larger Sansom Park mountain bike trails. I absolutely loved it! The view of fearhered eagles and iron eagles (fighter jets) flying overhead, and the waterfalls is stunning!
Fantastic views. Quite a lot of trash and broken glass though. Either way, I think I have a new favorite
This is one of my favorite trails we’ve done in DFW. People say there’s trash everywhere, but we didn’t see much at all. Lots of elevation changes but nothing severe, and plenty of rocks and turns to keep it challenging but not too difficult. The trail that All Trails calls “Sansom Red Trail” is actually the Speakeasy trail at the park, and it is well marked and easy to follow. Highly recommend.
