Nice view of the river. One of San Antonio’s best spots.

Good for a family stroll after a visit to the Alamo or a date night. Be kind to the homeless and take some spending money. Biggest detractor is if you are pushing a stroller or are not as mobile, finding ramps or in service elevators to change levels to cross bridges becomes a challenge.

This route made me feel like a tourist in my own city. I’ve been here for years now and never knew there was a Korea/Vietnam war memorial, I never walked through the King William district, and the Guenther House is one of my favorite places for lunch now.

I am so used to the touristy area of the Riverwalk, but the Riverwalk in the King William district was very peaceful and serene. I went off the route several times because there was so much going on today I did this walk. During this route, I made it into a 8 mile pub crawl and it was a blast. Met great people and even though it took a lot longer than I expected, I enjoyed every minute.

I highly recommend this route to anyone.

If you're going to do any "urban hiking", this walk plus the Missions Trail, and a few other downtown areas is some of the best. It may be easy going, but you'll get a whole lot of it.

Lots of history, tourist attractions and fun things to do on the riverwalk.

The Riverwalk is geared towards tourism, and in the process much of the historical aspect is overlooked. You can definitely still find interesting history here, but the overwhelming push here is dining and shopping. Having said that, the Riverwalk is a must when visiting San Antonio.

The River Walk is a great place in San Antonio. Great restaurants and shops. Great place to walk around while in San Antonio. A must visit when there.

Beautiful! great little shops and restaurants. Very picturesque!
We did have a double stroller and it was difficult at times due to the high foot traffic. Very busy and popular area of San Antonio.
Also, we had a hard time finding the handicap access to get the stroller over the walkways to cross the river. The signs said there were access points but we were unable to find them.

Still a nice walk. We enjoyed the sculpture garden courtyard towards the end of the walk.

Great way to see this area of the city. Can get crowded and/or hot depending on time of year or day. A lot of "touristy" restaurants and shops, but you can definitely find a few local spots here too.

Downtown SA and the Riverwalk area are the best thing SA has going on. The Alamo is well maintained and interesting, and the area along the river is beautiful, full of shops, foliage, and friendly people. Loved my time in this area.

Nice urban city trail. More of a happening spot than a hike. Nice place to people watch, shop and have a bite to eat.

Beautiful walk with lots of history. If you can walk it next to one of the river tour boats, they'll share all the great histories and you'll save admission.

If you like city walking with more then skyscrapers to look at this is the place. You have a mall, bars, popular resturants, a stage where many films were made (Miss Congeniality) and a IMAX theater all located along this riverwalk 20' below the city streets. Oh this place is awesome at night!

It seems that, for someone who doesn't like urban hiking, I do a lot of it. Certainly take the boat tour, but this is the best way to see the River Walk. This is one of the prettiest urban environments I have ever seen. Besides, there are plenty of places to stop and sample the local food, or to relax with a drink as you just take in the atmosphere.
