Reimer's Ranch Lower and Upper River Trail is a 4.2 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Dripping Springs, Texas that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, running, and nature trips and is accessible year-round.
It was beautiful it really was but we couldn’t get to the trail that we wanted to get to it felt like we were walking in circles and my husband had the map. We’ve never had a problem with a map before but here it was ridiculous. We quit after 2.8 miles and went home. The kids started off great but the sun was just too much, no shade and the granite trail was just boring. Maybe if it was just my husband and I it would’ve been a different story but it was just too much sun for the kids.
Great trail for hiking. I took my two boys and we finished it in a couple of hours!
I love it !Moderate and many parts are easy. Good shoes are a must. Breath taking
Enjoyed the trail. Need to be careful of when the trail forks as easy to go off trail.
Great trail. Start at the trailhead near the beach access and finish by doing a little bouldering in the canyon portion of the trail at the upper end near the rock climbing area. It seems like the trail ends there, but keep going. You’ll discover the way. If you can’t figure it out ask some of the climbers who are congregating at the base of the wall. They’ll point out the way. The trail includes some GREAT views of the Pedernales. Bring a blanket to sit on the beach while soaking your feet in the cool clear water. this is a great spot to picnic if that’s your thing.
This trail was an easy hike for the most part. My fiancé and I did a little bouldering on an optional part of the north end trail near the rock climbing walls that was challenging but definitely a lot of fun! There’s really only two things that could have been different that would have made this 5 stars. I wish there was more shade on the hike and bike portion of the trail. The mid September Texas sun was pretty unforgiving on that portion of the trail. And I wish that we had known there is a fee to get into the park before hand. They only take cash and the nearest gas station with an atm is 4 miles back the way you come in. By the way so all of you know that fee is $5 per person for hiking they have other prices depending on what you’re coming to the park to do. Overall I would definitely come home this trail again but I may just take the lower river trail and stay away from the hike and bike trail.
