A fantastic trail! Steeper and rocky but with beautiful views, more than moderate but not difficult to walk, of course with good hiking boots this is less difficult. Once at the top of the mountain the landscape looks wonderful! You will love the amazing 360 degrees view.

This route is rocky and dusty in the lower reaches but gets interesting near the top! A little creepy to visit the shut-down aerial tram station, but we found a shadowy bench to enjoy lunch, my dog took a nap and the bathroom is open, stocked and maintained. Note to dog people: my 55 pound boxer mix managed the “chain-assisted” segments of the hike just fine, but he’s a strong hiker and experienced scrambler. Dogs that are larger, less athletic or more timid will not enjoy the steeper sections.

The loop portion at the end is confusing due to very slippery rock, intersecting with 3 other trails (1 of which is actually a service access trail) and the tram way construct. All in all a decent outing to be had once but the beginning mile and loop near the tram has very slippery rock that makes it not as enjoyable as it could be.

Not my favorite hike in El Paso. This trail is challenging and there’s a lot of loose rock; watch your footing. I’m not one for hiking poles or sticks but they would be useful on this trail. Neat bench and sign in book at the peak.

Worth repeating this route. great climbs and enough precariousness to keep you on your toes. really cool sign in sheet at the peak.
