We enjoyed the hike as a family. We were able to borrow a junior pack for our son. made the hike fun as he looked for animal tracks and searched for birds.

Fun day swimming, hiking and picnicking. This lake would be better if we had a boat, but the kids still had fun. The trail was a great climb and had an awesome view of the lake.

Possum Kingdom State Park is on the south/west side of the lake. We were there in the middle of June 2011. The temperature each day was about 105. It was very uncomfortable during the day. Whatever you wanted to do, it needed to be done in the morning before it got too hot. The whitetail deer are plentiful in this area, and are a pleasure to watch.
