Phillip McDougal Trail is a 1.7 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Texarkana, Texas that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for walking, running, and nature trips and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
A wonderful path through the Spring Lake Park. Accessibility: This asphalt and concrete trail is estimated to typically be at least 8 feet wide. The slope is moderately steep in one section and estimated to range overall from 0-6% grade. While most of the trail is gentle the steepest section is along the eastern edge of the park. There are several ADA-compliant car parking spots near the trailhead and around the park.
Easy, peaceful walk. Lots of people walking dogs and pushing strollers.
Nice paved trail inside Spring Lake Park. Well maintained, lots of geese and ducks, Disc Golf and picnicking nearby, docks for fishing. Overall, a nice place to pass time with family and friends.
I ran around this trail this morning. The Phillip McDougal Trail circles beautiful Spring Lake Park in Texarkana. You'll find lots of people on the trail in the morning and at lunch time. The trail is shared by runners and walkers. I like that when I run the circle you'll see several different types of terrain, including areas with lots of trees, some fields, a playground, and around a beautiful and recently renovated small lake. While the trail is 1.7 miles, if you exit via the north end extension, the trail will lead to a northern exit to the park. Run down the road to the east and you'll meet another short trail under Interstate 30 and around the Texas Visitor's Center.
