A short hike in a very interesting area This is a short easy hike in and around a 50,000 year old meteor crater. Information sheets are available in the museum. Signs are posted along the trail telling what scientists have learned. A 165 ft deep shaft was drilled looking for meteor pieces. Covered picnic benches are available in several areas. This is a nice short hike and a break area if you are passing through.

Interesting museum with exhibits, the actual strike is gone, you just see remnants of digs. Go for the Museum.

Just a little dirt path with some signs talking about the meteorite. Be a goo spot to picnic.

not too shabby short but informative

Short scraggly trail, the crater is pretty near filled in completely, the signs with information on the crater are worn out with some words too distorted to read. There's a small one room museum and the guy working their seemed to hate his job. All in all it was a complete waste of 20 minutes of my life.

The crater is not very deep anymore. They really upgraded the site when the new visitor center was built.
