Fun hike, but can be difficult to find the trail head as the service road a mile out of the trailhead was closed

Great hike! However, we started from Sam Nalls Ranch parking area. We walked up the road to the old parking area which was about a mile. Then walked to the intersection of this trail to Cattails spring trail. It’s a strenuous walk from there to the best view of the Window. It’s beautiful, but after 2 hrs up we turned around to return to the car as weather was coming in The distance needs to be updated on this AP since the road is now closed at Ross road. We had a great 4 + hourlong hike !! Well over 1,000 elevation change in 2 hrs!!

A very relaxing trail with a moderate to low level of difficulty. The trail winds up and curves up around the terrain and then drops back down to connect to the Cattail falls trail. Come prepared with water and have proper attire on. The temps are known to rise and drop as the ever changing weather allows. While we were hiking, one side of the mountain faced the sun and as we curved around, it was shaded and a lot cooler. Part of the trail is along the cliff so be prepared to walk into a ledge with a curve. I wouldn't recommend this trail for someone who isn't very active. The Window Trail is would be more family friendly and oriented than the Oak Spring Trail.

A nice trail that leads to the bottom of the Window and connects with the Window trail. A very scenic hike which leads past the trail to Cattail Falls. Near the top one can find evidence of flint knapping by past natives.
